Charlotte Fire Fund & Charlotte’s Garden
On Thursday, July 12, 2012 Idaho’s Hometown Hero Medal hosted an event called “The Spirit of Pocatello” – a dinner with live musical entertainment in celebration courage – bringing together those affected by the Charlotte Fire with city, county and volunteer firefighters, law enforcement agencies, city and government officials, animal advocacy volunteers, general volunteers and good neighbors that helped with efforts to fight the Charlotte fire. The spirit of the evening was captured in the gleeful faces of the children that lost their homes in the fire when they each found out they were going to receive a new bike, generously donated by Barrie’s Ski & Sports in combination with the funds raised by our efforts.
Our efforts raised more than $60,000 in support of those individuals, families and neighborhoods most affected by the Charlotte Fire – an effort we plan to continue throughout the coming months through efforts like the Charlotte’s Garden project, created to rejuvenate the landscape through seed sharing and native plants.
