Don Aslett, 2012 Medalist
America’s #1 Cleaning Expert and Idaho born and raised farm boy, Don Aslett, organized a cleaning company to earn his way through college. Varsity Contractors, Inc. was so successful that he stayed in the cleaning business even after he graduated. Don’s teaching and writing about cleaning efficiency launched in the mid-70s with the printing of his first book, Is There Life After Housework? He has since authored more than 40 books and has sold over 3,000,000 copies.
He has given thousands of keynote speeches, seminars, and presentations that are inspiring as well as entertaining. However, Don’s most popular topics are not just cleaning; he is also interested in sharing his knack for organization and self-improvement. Most recently, Don built the 70,000 square foot Museum of Clean situated right in his hometown of Pocatello, Idaho. He upgraded 2+ acres of property in the southwest corner of town by the tracks, reusing 90% of old materials from the 1915 Salt Lake Hardware building. The building is on target to be LEED certified to a platinum level. The Museum opened to the public November 2011, and now draws visitors from all over the country (and world!). He is also recognized as a former Idaho Business Leader of the Year. He has been married for 50+ years and is blessed with six children and eighteen grandchildren.
