Rebecca Rusch
Rebecca Rusch, 2011 Medalist
Rebecca Rusch wasn’t thinking about world championships when she joined the Downers Grove North High School cross-country team. “I just wanted the free track suit,” recalls Rusch, who, 28 years later, finds herself among the ranks of the world’s elite endurance athletes.

Rebecca recently won her third straight victory in the Leadville Trail 100, one of the most grueling mountain biking events in the world, shattering her record from last year. In the offseason, Rebecca coaches masters skiing for adults in her hometown of Ketchum, Idaho, where she is also a member of the volunteer fire department.
